The Niger Delta is a very endowed natural resource-rich ecosystem from Lagos to Akwa Ibom State. However, the current research action is targeting 8 States as indicated on the map of Nigeria. The target locations have suffered extreme oil spill tragic incidences over several decades. The various oil spills were reported but the outcomes of cleaning methodologies resulted in greater pollution and destruction of the natural resources especially the loss of aquatic resources. Thus, fishers in the Niger Delta became poorer as they lost their primary economic sources. Communities effected appealed to the Federal Government over and over again. Now that a group of Nigerian have gotten together to give service to their 'Motherland' using research results that will use bioremefial methodology. It is time to show that we can save the Niger Delta Environment from chemical pollutants. The destruction of aquatic resources continue to result in poverty of the communities especially in the availability of aquatic resources killed by the continued oil spills and lack of appropriate cleaning of the environment.
